Product Description
As early as the Middle Ages, gambesons were worn under chain mail as padding and to protect against sword or dagger stabs. The Gambeson eventually made it into a man's everyday wardrobe, to be worn without a breastplate or chain mail. Some gambesons may have thicker padding, but our classic, black Gambeson of 100 percent cotton is a very comfortable outer garment. You can use the lacing at the front to close the gambeson up to the collar, and it is slit below the hips at the front and back to give you lots of freedom of movement!
