Known as the Maid of Orleans, this heroic woman was not afraid of a good fight. We have many costumes of the period, but you don't always have to be historically accurate. Joan of Arc surely would have loved this pastel version of a medieval warrior-woman's outfit.
Her surcoat is more like a dress that flares outward from the waist seam. It is particolored in hot pink and beige, and her coat of arms is a double swan (for light, grace and perfection) in pink on a blue bar of water. The long sleeves are in chain mail look down to the cuffs, which are light pink crushed velvet with golden trim and a golden button. The surcoat fastens at the nape of the neck with a hook and loop strip. The wide belt in matching pink crushed velvet with golden studs fastens at the back with a hook and loop strip. Light pink boot tops match the belt, and Joan of Arc's headgear is a cross between a crown and a helmet – perfect for a virgin warrior saint. It is a flat golden cap trimmed with lighter gold fabric and dotted with shiny red studs. At the back there is an aventail in the same fake chain mail look as the sleeves. Long live the patron saint of France!
PLEASE NOTE: Our costume differs from the one shown. The cuffs and boot tops are pale pink and not hot pink.
