Valkyrie is a household word, but what exactly is a valkyrie? The valkyries were the female demons of death in Norse mythology who chose the warriors who would die on the battlefield and escorted them to Valhalla to live with the gods. Traditionally, a valkyrie flies, wears a helmet and armor, and carries a spear. Our Valkyrie costume features a top made of long bishop sleeves attached to a brown imitation suede bodice. The sleeves are slit from the wrists to the elbows and joined with the same brown imitation leather with studs and disks with runes used for the chest protector, straps and belt on the bodice. The bodice has lacing and metal eyelets at the back so you can adjust it to fit your figure, and the sexy off-the-shoulder neckline is trimmed with white and beige fake fur for that primitive, Old Norse feeling. The floor-length skirt ties at the waist with a drawstring, and it is made of the same gold & black imitation lizard fabric as the sleeves. The outfit also includes a circlet made of white and beige fake fur trimmed with imitation leather and decorated with the same disks found on the bodice. This Valkyrie is waiting to serve the fallen warriors mead in Valhalla!
