What started out as protection ended up as an enduring fashion: European men wore doublets for centuries, and they've always been as close-fitting as technically possible. This heavyweight, long-sleeve version is made of genuine, dark brown leather with shiny brown satin lining in an early medieval cut. This padded leather doublet provides a lot more protection from an assassin's knife, for example, than one made of fabric would. Instead of buttoning up the front, the leather doublet fastens with rugged leather lacing threaded through metal eyelets for a rugged, adventurous look that adjusts to fit your figure. The padded shoulder wings in contrasting green stripes and silvery metal studs on the sleeves of our Leather Doublet are practical and decorative at the same time!
