Theme Party: Red Carpet – Be a Hollywood Star!

Since TV went reality and reality TV became a slew of talent competition shows, everyone seems to be getting their proverbial 15 minutes of fame these days. I’m a star, you’re a star, we’re all stars on YouTube. There’s no shame in some quick and dirty fame, but true stars burn their brightest on Hollywood’s silver screen.

But why go through the struggle of that dog-eat-dog world with the power of Hollywood dress-up right at your fingertips? Be your personal idol for New Year’s and let your individual star power shine! We’ve got just the costume creations for your New Year’s celebrity theme party. You’ll need a bodyguard to keep the paparazzi at bay.

The Brightest Stars Burn Out the Fastest – Paying Tribute to Young Legends

It’s a sad truth that many legends are first born upon death. The death of Amy Winehouse reminded us of those few bigger than life legends who have formed something of a 27 Club. Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin – they all left us too early. Although he died a bit later in life, the same goes for the eternal King of Pop. R.I.P. Michael Jackson. We HEART U! If it’s any consolation, their abbreviated, yet power-packed stay in pop culture will only ripen with time – after all, their awesome music and performance live on through us. We also have a couple of authentically reworked costumes of some unforgettable rock ’n‘ roll talents in the repertoire. Reawaken the likes of Freddy MercuryBuddy HollyJames Dean and Co. After all, in show biz, the show can only go on and on and on.

Hollywood Divas & Music Stars of the Recent Past

The classic diva image goes a little something like this: puckered, ruby red lips, fluttering, long eyelashes, big, Bambi eyes, delicate puffs on a long cigarette holder, and of course an aura of mysterious charisma. Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s immediately comes to mind, and rightly so – she continues to be the epitome of Hollywood diva stardom. We’re feeling the nostalgia for such a class act, are you? Sometimes all you need are a couple accessories to get that perfect Hollywood look. For the gentleman’s gentleman out there, Fred Astaire never ceases to be dashing and debonair. Or jazz it up Soul Man-style with our Blues Brothers costumes – they may only be fictive, but the legendary film comedy included several larger than life personalities: Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Carrie Fisher and Steven Spielberg. This line-up alone begs for a Blues Brothers Theme Party!  Still among us are pop and rocks stars who made it big in the 1960s up through the ’80s. We’ve got ABBA, Madonna, and Kiss costumes and accessories in epic proportions. Elvis „The King“ Presley deserves a party in his honor, too, and he fits right into our star cast of characters.

Stars of Today, Stars of Tomorrow

Not to worry, there won’t be any talk of Justin Bieber here. We’re much more interested in the real macoy. Pop Divas! Climbing your way to the top of the charts demands a certain style. For a contemporary femme fatale look, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have got it goin‘ on. The gents can take it a blip back on the radar action hero style and rock a Rambo, Indiana Jones or Top Gun get-up. Of course, putting together your own celebrity costume is always an option. We’ve got star and diva costumes and accessories galore, everything you need for your award-winning New Year’s act.

They’ll laugh, they’ll cry, all while you’re raking in the Oscars and Grammys. Now get out there and break a leg!

Wishing you all the best,

The crew @ maskworld
