St. Patrick’s Day Costumes – Green Spree!
You’ve hardly taken off your Carnival costume and there’s already another occasion for revelry. March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, is the most well-known Irish holiday. Here we explain the background of St. Paddy’s Day and show you fantastic St. Patrick’s Day costumes.
St. Patrick’s Day – Irish for a Day!
Lá Fhéile Pádraig, Irish for “the day of the festival of Patrick,” is the official feast day of Bishop Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Since the 7th century the Irish have celebrated their beloved “St. Paddy,” themselves, life – and the color green – every year on March 17th. And because the Irish practice the art of celebration very openly, St. Patrick’s Day has been attracting more and more non-Irish participants worldwide.
St. Patrick’s Day Costumes for a Funky Irish Look
One thing is as “sure as God made little green apples” on St. Patrick’s Day: wearing green is strictly allowed! And here creative St. Patrick’s Day costumes are nowhere near as uncommon as a four-leaf clover. The gentlemen out there will dazzle in our OppoSuits Patrick and matching St. Patrick’s Day Bowler or our green Sgt. Pepper uniform. While the ladies will turn heads in our Sexy Clover Leprechaun costume or our Irish Lady Luck costume. And if you can’t get enough green goodness, throw on a pair of green contact lenses! One thing is for sure: with the right dose of green you won’t be celebrating alone on the 17th. Pinch pinch!
