Although the independent production "Donnie Darko" was never shown in cinemas in Germany, the film quickly became a cult hit on video and the discussions about the interpretation of the content continue to this day. It would take too long to explain the story of the American teenager Donnie Darko, his girlfriend Gretchen, "Grandma Death" and the mysterious giant rabbit Frank, who prophesies the end of the world. But anyone who has seen the film once will immediately fall under its spell and will not be let go.
The rabbit Frank, originally conceived as a self-made Halloween costume in "Donnie Darko", plays a key role in the story, just as he does in the sequel "S. Darko".
