Elaborate US Civil War general costume. Full dress costume: General Custer uniform with deep blue uniform jacket decorated with gold braid, cavalry hat, red bandanna, black boot tops and blue uniform trousers with yellow stripes at the side. Made his last stand looking like a true soldier!
American Civil War general George Custer was a cavalry commander who fought against the Indians at Little Bighorn – and lost his life in the process. This hero of the Old West was also famous for being a pioneer in reputation management, an his efforts included a carefully chosen wardrobe.
Our General Custer costume features a military frock coat in deep blue with a bib front and golden stars at the collar points. Gold-trimmed epaulets with stars grace the wide, padded shoulders and an elaborate design in gold soutache makes the long sleeves real eye-catchers. The bib front looks like it fastens at the left with a row of golden buttons, but they are for decoration only: a hook and loop fastener at the top and at the waist keep the frock coat closed.
The bright red tie Custer was famous for is also included in this General Custer costume. Simply cut with a golden stripe down each side, the trousers have a snap and a zip fastener at the front, but the waistband is also elasticized for wearing comfort. The wide, black belt in imitation leather with a metal buckle doubles as a bandolier for a cavalry saber. Add the slouch hat made of 100% wool felt and black boot tops and you'll go to the party like a true soldier!
