Cleaning

The best way to clean them is in the dishwasher. Or by hand with warm water, a soft sponge and washing-up liquid; then rinse with cold water and simply leave to air dry, because if you use a towel, lint may come off and remain in the mold. Not tasty!

Under no circumstances should you use sharp objects such as brushes, the rough sides of cleaning sponges or metal pot cleaners - these will quickly damage the surface of the mold and either parts may come loose from the mold or small cracks may form, which will get bigger and bigger over time and eventually lead to the mold cracking.

If you have more stubborn stains, it is better to clean them by soaking them in washing-up liquid for a longer period of time. If this is not enough, you can also soak the mold in caustic soda.

We do not recommend cleaning or baby wipes; these often contain silicones, chemicals or fragrances that can damage silicone molds. In addition, fibers and lint can also get stuck in the mold.

The fact that the mold feels as if it has a thin film of grease on the surface after a while is not a problem and does not affect its functionality as long as you always keep the mold clean as described. If you still want to get rid of it, you can boil the mold in salted water for a few minutes. This will dissolve the fat. Even after this, the mold may still feel as if it has a minimal film of grease on the surface.

Tips & tricks

  • The molds are super-flexible so that you can easily remove the finished products. This means that handling is sometimes not quite so easy and requires a bit of skill. The mold is much easier to move if you place it on a firm surface, such as a kitchen board, before filling it. Then you can easily lift the mold and move it around without it becoming deformed and the contents spilling out. You can also place thin plastic breakfast boards in the fridge or freezer; this means you lose little space and can even stack several molds on top of each other.
  • Turn over correctly: Place the mold on the worktop, place the serving plate upside down on the mold and then turn the mold and serving plate over together. Then carefully remove the mold - done!
  • .. and a few warnings

  • Do not use sharp objects such as knives, scissors or metal cleaning sponges etc. with your silicone mold. Although silicone is an extremely flexible and resistant material, sharp objects can quickly damage the silicone, especially on the surface.
  • Although the mold can withstand 230 degrees of heat, it must not come into direct contact with heated surfaces, i.e. Never place the mold directly on hot surfaces such as stove tops or the bottom of the oven.
  • Never expose the mold to open fire - i.e. neither candles, campfires nor gas flames.
  • Do not use the mold for making food once you have made other things such as soaps, candles, etc. in it. This often leaves behind residues that cannot be completely removed. These unwanted ingredients can end up in your creations and make them inedible or even harmful to your health.
