Medieval Eating Utensils

Included in delivery
  • medieval iron cutlery three-piece
  • with fork, spoon and knife
Product Description
Our medieval ancestors used their fingers to put most of their food in their mouths and had a limited selection of tools for the table. Spoons were used for soup and eggs – food that you can‘t really eat with your fingers. Everyone had a personal knife for cutting just about everything, including meat at the table. At first, forks were not used for putting food into the mouth but for spearing food from the serving dish – very different from today!

This set of three Medieval Eating Utensils is a romantic accompaniment to any feast. The handles of the 2-tined fork, knife, and spoon do not have separate hafts. The craftsman who made them simply gave the steel a blacksmith‘s turn with a tightly curled end. Come gather ‚round the trestle table!
