Product Description
Lightweight and romantic in shimmering wine red and rose accented with earth tones and pure white lace – this is the perfect ensemble for a fine lady of the Rococo period. The attractive scoop of the neckline is underscored by a deep lace ruffle and the pink satin bow that gracefully marks the center at the front. The pointed end of the bodice insert in wine red satin knit is reinforced by the same pink & gold braid that edges the hem of the bodice and the skirt. The dainty elbow-length sleeves end in lace ruffles, and this top fastens with a long loop and hook strip at the back. The floor-length, drawstring skirt is made of the same wine red satin knit, and the short overskirt in rose and earth tones is gracefully gathered at the sides and finished with pink bows. This dress includes a modern version of the farthingale: hip padding to wear underneath to give this Duchess dress the wide-hipped silhouette that was the fashion trend of the period. And the ensemble is topped by a bountiful wig in the white, curled look of the period.
