This early Renaissance Robe du Soir ensemble consists of two sleeveless dresses. They can also be worn separately and combined with a chemise or a skirt. The red velvet gown is fully lined with warm golden satin, and the kirtle is midnight blue velvet lined with cold golden satin at the bodice. The gown lining creates an exciting spark of color when you move. The kirtle has a square neckline defined by Jacquard trim in noble gold and black. The armholes provide lots of room for billowing chemise sleeves, and the straps tie at the top. Lacing at the sides also adjusts for an individual fit, and the full skirt is pleated into the slightly drop waist at the front and back. The neckline and front opening of the gown are outlined in silver and black Jacquard trim. Its waistline is slightly higher to fit over the kirtle, and the lacing at the front is designed to be very wide. This ensemble is custom produced in a studio, so the color of the lining and trim may vary.
