Stewart was the family name of a variety of Scottish lords in the late 16th century. The Earl of Moray, the Duke of Albany – both of these lords were named Stewart. In the late 16th century, Tudor fashion was the rage in Scotland and England, so of course our Lord Stewart joined in. He is wearing a rich outfit whose focus is a weighty Tudor cape in royal blue velvet lined with shiny midnight blue satin. The sleeveless cape has wine red shoulder wings with stripes of gold soutache. The wide, rounded collar edged in gold hides a wine red yoke at the back. Golden sun halves with large blue sequins at the center decorate the wine red stripe that trims the front opening. This Stewart sports a velvety wine red doublet with a white yoke, a small white ruff collar, and sleeves with a white slash effect beneath his cape. The doublet fastens at the back with hook and loop fasteners. The comfortable, wine red knee breeches are elasticized at the waistband and the knees for wearing comfort. A flat cap in royal blue velvet with a glowing fake jewel and a pink plume top off the outfit. Black shoe tops with bows and gold trim provide a sturdy base. The real Lord Stewart never had it this good!
