Product Description
The Lord Steward was the equivalent of the "facility manager" at the king's court. The Lord Steward was responsible for organizing all events such as travel or royal receptions on his own and administering the assets of the royal family to the best of his ability. The special position of the king's steward is reflected in his elegant, black and gold belted houppelande and chaperon. The unusual chaperon hat has a padded black circlet and long, scalloped tail, and the houppelande has a dagged collar and long, dagged sleeves. The gold braid that trims the front and hem creates a strong contrast with the black background. Knee socks and black, knee-length breeches complete the outfit – elegant from head to toe.
