From the 15th century until its fall, the title "pasha" was used to designate the highest-ranking civil servants and members of the military in the Ottoman Empire. A pasha increased the effect of his influence and prestige by wearing clothing that was as extravagant as possible. You put on the stable, golden turban decorated with strings of pearls and brooches like a hat – no complicated wrapping involved. The tunic-length coat in a swirl pattern of shiny, pink damask has long, roomy sleeves and closes asymmetrically at the front. The standing collar and front flap are edged in glittering gold. The trousers have a comfortable elasticized waistband and are made of the same glittering, golden fabric as the sash and coat trim. This Pasha will make a powerful impression in his upturned slippers!
