Many people still believe that the Vikings were easy to spot because they all wore helmets with horns. But the Vikings didn't get horns on their helmets until the 19th century – before that, they wore conical spangenhelms. With eye and cheek protection if they were lucky, but no horns. Sometime Vikings didn't even wear helmets. Helmets are for making war, not partying. For festivities, the Vikings wore green Norsemen's tunics with decorative golden trim at the collar, cuffs and hem, and short coats trimmed with shaggy fake fur like the ones shown. Ready, set...
