The Teutonic Knights were one of the many orders of Christian soldiers who fought the Saracens in the Holy Land during the Middle Ages. After they lost in the Middle East, they moved on to Transylvania to fight the vampires – ah, sorry, wrong chronicle! In any case, Teutonic Knights are rare today, but the figures they cut are still impressive. Our comfortable, robust Teutonic Knight surcoat and cape are made of 100 percent cotton. The symbol on the front of the surcoat and the left side of the cloak is a cross pattée – like the modern Iron Cross – which shows exactly whose side their wearer is on. Their motto: Help, Defend, Heal!
