Product Description
Mercenaries are just like modern professional athletes. They sell their services to the team that offers them the brightest future – ok, the most money – and don't hesitate to change sides. Because there were no pro sports in the Middle Ages, mercenaries earned their money on the battlefield instead of the playing field. Instead of a flashy jersey, medieval mercenaries wore gambesons to protect their bodies. The one that our mercenary is wearing is made of 100 percent cotton. It is black to show the comfortable light armor he is wearing over it to advantage. The molded plastic armor consists of a cuirass with attached tassets for chest and thigh protection, pauldrons for shoulder and elbow protection, and greaves for leg and knee protection. The greaves have elastic bands to keep them on your legs, and the other pieces are bolted together. They are airbrushed to look like gleaming, blackened steel. Very dramatic but comfortable to wear!
