Product Description
Landsquenet is another word for Landsknecht, the mercenary soldiers whose weapon of choice in the early 16th century was the pike. They effectively fought in standing formations until firearms became widely used – when their armor would have had to become thick to protect them from bullets but too thick to allow them to move quickly. Our Landsquenet is wearing armor made of molded plastic airbrushed to look like gleaming, blackened steel. Beneath the cuirass with tassets and pauldrons, he is wearing a black gambeson made of 100 percent cotton. The color shows the armor to great advantage and the padding provides protection from the armor.
