General Wellington is the British national hero who made the triumphal move in the war against Napoleon during the Battle of Waterloo. Today's General Wellington is a magnificent reflection of former glory – from the plume decorating his red and gold bicorne on down. The bright red jacket has extravagant details: a golden arabesque on the front, generous epaulets with thick, golden fringe, an especially high collar trimmed in gold, and extra-wide cuffs in exciting black and gold. The sash adds just the right amount of patriotic blue, and the baggy white trousers above the black boot tops set the trend for the Zouaves that came later.
