Anne Bonny was one of the few female pirates who terrorized the Caribbean during the 18th century. This fearless lady pirate often wore men's clothes to blend in better with the crowd. So we designed this ensemble of masculine pirate's clothing with a woman's curves in mind!
The fully lined fawn brown dress coat, which is 69 percent wool, is cut to emphasize a neat waistline and flare out at the hips. The noble, high collar is edged in gold braid and large, antique gold buttons with an embossed castle and leaf design keep the revers in place. The deep cuffs are held in place by five matching buttons. This pirate dress coat has a slit at the back for plenty of freedom of movement and an adjustable rear belt as well. Seven buttons fasten the hip-length waistcoat made of brown damask in a tiny gold & black floral pattern. It has a modest V-neckline and is fully lined.
The lightweight blouse in antique white has a simple slit neckline with a stand-up collar that ends in a ruffle. Pleats at the shoulder seam add fullness to the front, and the long sleeves are gathered at the shoulders for extra fullness. They are edged with the elegant lace ruffle that peeks out from beneath the coat sleeves. The breeches are made of black velveteen cut to hug your figure. They have a comfortable elasticized waistband. The legs end in broad leather cuffs with two metal buckles at the sides that adjust to provide the ideal fit. No doubt: Anne Bonny would have worn this outfit time and time again.
