Noblewomen are expected to be fashion trendsetters, and our Noblewoman is no exception. She is the essence of Baroque fashion in a floor-length dress of red velvet and black & silver lace! The bodice of this dress in elegant red velvet has a modest rounded V-neckline edged with a black lace frill. The stiffened collar is made of lace with a silver & black floral pattern – the same lace used as the outer layer of the bodice and the sleeves. The elegant trumpet sleeves are elasticized below the elbows, where the lace stops and the red velvet reappears. The sleeves are also edged in black lace. The bodice laces up the back with a bright red cord and black loops. The skirt is gathered into the bodice and flows to the floor. Two inner layers of lightweight, stiff interfacing add shapely volume around the hips. A lovely ensemble for dancing by candlelight.
