Product Description
What a lady – what a dress! Elegantly simple in deep wine red, this 2-piece costume consists of a top and skirt. The top has splendid puff & slash virago sleeves lined with pale gold satin. The soft, deep V-neckline is highlighted by the long, oval brooch in purple and gold nestled among the gathers of antique white lace at the center. The lace turns up again in pretty ruffles at the cuffs. The tabs at the waistline are lined in pale gold to match the sleeves, and the tapering front insert of gold lace is outlined in gold braid. The floor-length skirt has an insert at the front tht is covered in the same golden lace as the top. This dres would be even more imposing with a hoop skirt like the ones worn in the period (sold separately).
