Samurai are known for their absolute loyalty to their rulers. But the outfit of this Samurai is as impressive as his vow to be loyal until death. The yellow and blue one-piece sash is worn over the red, broad-shouldered sleeveless jacket (kataginu) trimmed in blue. The body of the kimono top is white, and the wide, kimono-like sleeves trimmed with gold braid are the same dark gray color as the long, wide trousers with an elasticized waistband. It would be a shame to ruin this outfit by honorably committing seppuku, the ritual suicide practiced by the samurai, in it!
