Product Description
Genghis Kahn was the founder and first ruler of the Mongol Empire, which became the largest empire in history after his death. He name is legendary, but the stories about him are full of contradictions. On the one hand, he has a reputation for being the scourge of humanity and a ferocious mass murderer. On the other, he was said to be an extremely clever and tolerant ruler.
Our Genghis Khan costume combines both aspects of the legend: the noble character and the harsh reality of the steppes. The dramatic, thigh-length tunic is made of deep red satin with glowing metallic threads. The simple scoop neckline and sleeve ends have wide edging of the same shiny, dark brown satin the sash is made of. The crossed baldric made of dark brown imitation leather features metal studs. It is attached to the tunic at the sides. The tunic has a slit at the back of the neck and fastens with a snap. Genghis Khan wears a coat over his tunic. The collar and front opening, and the elbow-length sleeves are trimmed with patterned fake fur. The coat itself is made of light blue velvet knit printed with a matte layer of gold. Baggy, knee-length pants in soft, dark green, a pair of dark brown boot tops in imitation leather, and a pointed Mongolian cap made of the same imitation leather with fur trim complete this richly expressive costume.
