The legionaries were the backbone of the Roman army. The life of a simple soldier was so hard in ancient Rome that only half of the eligible men survived their time in service. With our Legionnaire costume, you can have the look without the pain and deprivation. Wear the bright red legionary tunic – roomy and just over the knee to show a commoner is wearing it – with a neckline slit and set-in sleeves and protective shoulder strips right next to your body. It's 100 percent cotton! The sleeveless, outer officer tunic is made of dark brown, genuine leather. It features shoulder strips and a skirt made of overlapping leather strips for added protection. The open front laces up with metal eyelets and a leather tie. The helmet is plastic painted to look like metal with a separate "crest" with a bright red feather. Ave!
