An attractive leather jerkin was part of almost every male outfit in the Renaissance. Landsknechts, the mercenary pike men who were the scourge of opposing armies throughout the 16th century, wore them for protection.
Like their Swiss mercenary counterparts, Landsknechts were known for their elaborate, almost gaudy, taste in clothing. Made of genuine suede, our Landsknecht Jerkin is as slashed and striped as the best of them. The cut outs are backed with contrasting dark leather for added decoration, and the shoulder caps are padded to add breadth to your figure.
