Brigandines were used as body armor in as early as the 13th century, and had their peak in the late 15th century. They provided a lot of protection when worn over a mail shirt and a gambeson, were relatively easy to make and repair, and were much cheaper than plate armor.
At the open front, six leather straps with metal buckles keep this long, light brown leather brigandine in its place during the fiercest battles. Heavy grade leather plates arranged in a grid with approx. 2 cm of space between them are riveted to the long tunic made of thick, light brown nubuc leather. The tunic is also open at the sides, but it has leather lacing from the armpits to the hips so you can adjust it to fit properly. Below the hips, it is open at the front, sides and back to allow you to move freely while wearing it!
Material: genuine leather
