The crossguard is at an approx. 45° angle to the blade and at each end it has three rings arranged like a clover leaf - unmistakable signs that this foam weapon is a Scottish Claymore. This type of weapon was used to fight feuds and border skirmishes in the Scottish Highlands for over 300 years.
The same weapon in extremely safe foam construction consists of a fiberglass rod at the core covered with foam. The foam is sealed with several layers of latex and finished with a highly flexible synthetic lacquer coating.
