Product Description
Umbrellas were first used in Europe around the middle of the 17th century. The first ones were imported from China, and probably could not be closed. They were used to protect people from getting wet in the rain or from exposure to too much sun. Our black lace folding umbrella is a parasol, used to shield ladies' complexions from the sun while adding a graceful note to their outfits. Panels of black lace are stretched between the ribs and the ribs and panels are trimmed with a black chiffon frill. The end and crook handle are both covered with black net to dull the plastic shine.
