Mythodea Calling
Normal size LARP cons have a lot to offer. With 50 – 100 players the atmosphere stays informal and intimate, meaning the chances of finding an intense character role play are high. And while we’re being honest, the usual Saturday night final battle with the same thirty zombies since forever who burst through the heroic wall of shields is no longer the highlight it was for some of us a couple years ago.
Yet ConQuest and events of a similar scale have undeniable strengths. Battles, banter and carnage are just more epic when thousands are making it happen, when the war drums boom and entire enemy pike square formations disperse and clatter off to the side. Welcome to Mythodea!
In terms of ambiance the ConQuest of Mythodea far outdoes the competition. Huge tent towns have been set up with love and invite cultivated strolls through the large market with its various merchants, booths, pubs and other hangouts.
By nightfall when the warm light of torches, lanterns and candles illuminates the entire area the frenzy of the day gives way to Mythodea’s well-known night life. Music and dancing and wild revelry in all of the taverns goes on until the wee small hours of the morning. Once again: Welcome to Mythodea!
